Chris was born in Newburg, New York, on June 3, 1949.  She has worked and lived in New York City, New Jersey, and for the last twenty-three years in San Antonio.  She has been painting since she was fifteen.

Chris has studied at the San Antonio Art Institute, at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has continued her pursuit of excellence with single art classes through community and state colleges.  Her teachers have included Jerry Alexander, Leslie Koptcho, and Jodie Cariolano.  During her time at the Art Institute she received honorable mention and scholarship awards based on her portfolio and works completed at the Institute.  It is with fond memories and appreciation to the talented and caring teachers that Chris attributes her continued artistic endeavors.

When asked what art form she uses, Chris describes it as "organic with movement."  She paints the human body and nature with equal ease, finding joy and similarity of form in both.  In her own words, "I see a unity in my painting."
